Description
Comprehension is the ultimate goal of reading instruction. In this lesson, you will analyze the difference between strategies for teaching comprehension of literary texts and informational texts. (Honig et al., 2013). When teaching students who are learning English, it is beneficial to connect what they are learning with something they already know. Eschevarria et al., (2017) describes specific strategies teachers can use to help their students comprehend concepts and content in both social and instructional scenarios.
